Mod Inactivity

Discussion in 'General' started by Evildeath66, May 2, 2012.

  1. I've just had some time on my hands and decided to check out the mod board. I recognized some names, but others were not familiar. I used the /seen command to see when they were last on. Many have not been on for 2 months. I know maybe they have some RL issues atm, or their computer is not working, but 2 months is a long time. 2 of the 4 head mods have not been on for 2 months+. I made a list of when the last time a mod has been on that I haven't met as of Wednesday, May 07 2012, 8:00 EST. Here it is:
    Head Mods:
    badaim00: 2 months, 2 days, 19 hours
Mcon: 2 months, 14 days, 11 hours (ive met, but still a long time)

    Ryanskeltis: 2 months, 12 days, 6 hours
    abbariki12: 2 months, 11 days, 8 hours
    hostility00: 2 months, 3 days, 5 hours

    Server Manager:
JTSaturn: 3 months, 24 days, 17 hours (IK is Pyth's bro, just should be on more then :p)

6/21 mods (includeing Pythros and Bukenber_Poet) have not been on for 2 months+.

The point im trying to get across I guess is that we should do something about the inactivity. They are not helping much by being inactive. I have nothing against mods, I love them, I just think some need to be of more support to the server.

    Thanks for reading :)
(PS, not a stalker, just very into the server and have MineCrafter's Block ATM) :D
  2. As far as i have read jt saturn is pythroos brother that keeps the server alive so i dont think he is actualy a manager to work on the server but for what he is doing for it
  3. Fair point, but besides him, there are still many.
  4. Fair Point to you as well.
  5. Got to keep In mind that most of the poeple who are mature enough to become head mods are also mature enough to have lives with higher priorities than playing games.
  6. That's the same for all staff but not specialists because no one is one yet :D
  7. And pythros is on too, just as a ninja ;)
  8. He was on in person just last night...
  9. true, but if they are mature enough, they could at least give a warning that they would not be on very often. 2 months is still a long time for a head mod to be on. Becoming a head mod also takes dedication.
  10. I understand your concern. However, you have to also keep in mind that the /seen is only going to track the main server as of now. It doesn't track when people were on the temp map which we moved to on March 10th with returning to Era on the 15th of April.

While explanation for any "inactivity" of my staff isn't need for the community to know, I will give you a brief on a few situations.

Your information on my and Poet's seen is WAY off. You will see mine as roughly 24 hours as of now and Poet's as 15 days ago.

JTSaturn is my brother and is a hardware and on-site manager (it's located in a data center where he works) who plays SSP > SMP. He doesn't need to be on the server to play, but his name is listed to the fact that people are aware who he is when he does show up every blue moon.

MCon periodically has a few months at a time where he is well too busy to do much with games or let a long get on the computer due he is restricted to only a few hours where his internet is free - satellite internet sucks.

My staff do give their reasons for not being on. You may not know them, however, they for the majority of the time let the rest of the staff know in our own channels. Also, once a staff always a staff. Much like being a Marine.
  11. Thank you for explaining all of this, and I meant no offence. I assumed all had a reason, and I get the concept of RL, I just choose to ignore it more than others ;) . I had not thought of the temp map, that makes sense. I had just gone off of what I knew, fueled by a time of boredom. I like the server, and greatly appreciate all the work you and others have put into it.

    Thanks again,
